Laziness is a sin. The problem with it is that it is a sin that is difficult to commit and stop there. It is always committed with other sins that are a part of the packet. David was idling at home instead of being at the battle front. In his idleness he committed the following sins:
The critical importance of time in life, on the place and rank in eternity, makes it important to redeem time. The Bible says, “Try to learn what is pleasing to the Lord. Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them. For it is a shame even to speak of the things that they do in secret; but when anything is exposed by the light it becomes visible, for anything that becomes visible is light.
A. Spiritual Ambition: Selfish ambitions have no place in the life of any would-be disciple. In the world, people live for self. There are two types of people in the world - those with great worldly ambitions who because of their ambitions accomplish great things for themselves or for the world, and those who because of their lack of ambition accomplish nothing for themselves.
The "natural walk" of those who are in the Spirit is spiritual. When a believer has had his eyes also opened to the fact that he has died and is free from the law and therefore married to the Lord Jesus, he must believe by faith that God has put the law of the spirit of life in Christ within him, to operate the victory of God within him against the law of sin and death.
God is not responsible for your condition. You are responsible for it. The Lord Jesus said to the disciples …To you it has been given to know the secrets of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given. For to him who has will more be given, and he will have abundance; but from him who has not even what he has will be taken away.
