The Message of Brother Theodore at the 14th night of the Fasting Praise and Prayer Crusade was down-to-earth explanation of the making of disciples the Master’s way, based on his personal experience. « You can only give others what you have received » Brother Theodore said, as he started sharing the way he was made disciple by brother Zach.
He said specifically that Brother Zach adopted him as a child, took him to his home, took him in his office, took him in his laboratory as a help. He introduced him in his relations, and in his work, in his vision explaining the call of God on his life and gave him the responsibility to carry the conquest of Africa. Gave him the ring of friendship and absorbed him in his goal. He absorbed him in his burdens by inviting him to all his prayer meetings. He was also built in service in the church in Yaoundé, and in the church in Cameroon. And later on helped him serve God in the missionary enterprise, and in the new horizons in India, and now he is learning to serve with him in the entire work.
In turn he started making disciples, following the same way he was built. Both in Cameroon and in the Mission field in Nigeria. In the light of personal examples, he insisted on the need to make no negotiations with the commitments to be a disciple and the commitment to make disciples the Master’s way. Making disciples for the ministry requires commitments that engage you, brother Theodore underscored as he lambasted the personality cult that consists in snatching those you have led to Christ and calling them disciples.
You can go very far with a few people that are committed. But you will not make one step ahead with a big crowd with inner contradictions? Brother Theodore further commented.
With such light, brother Theodore declared the following:
- If you want to be a disciple, you can do it
- If you want to build disciples, you can do it.
- If you want to have a team, you can have one.
If we want to succeed, we must do it the Master’s way. The leader then concluded with these questions:
- Whose disciple are you?
- Who have you made a disciple the Master’s way?
