  31. Fasting liberates Spiritual power.

  32. Fasting is a spiritual weapon that enhances the other spiritual weapons.

  33. Fasting lays a claim on God to act, and He does act.

  34. Fasting is an expression of spiritual desperation.

  35. Fasting is a way of importuning God to act.

  36. Fasting and prayer precipitate victory.

  37. Fasting is a decision of the will.

  38. Fasting people are closer to God.

  45. Fasting opens a way to freedom from the power of food.

  46. Fasting is a way of saying “No” to gluttony.

The quality of the fast is determined by the following:

  1. Purity of heart.

  2. Consecration to the Lord.

  3. Love for the Lord.

  4. Self-denial.

  5. Suffering for the Lord.

  6. Sacrifice for the Lord.

  7. Knowledge of the Lord.

  8. Extent of withdrawal into God’s presence.

  9. Quality of prayer during the fast.

  10. Secrecy of the fast.

  11. Hunger for God.

  12. Obedience to the Lord.

The impact of a fast is directly proportional to the quality of the fast. The impact of the fast is also directly proportional to the duration of the fast. Everything being equal, for the same person a seven-day fast will produce results that cannot be produced by a three-day fast; a three-week fast will produce results that cannot be produced by a seven-day fast. The Enemy asks, “Who is fasting?” He is demanding to know the quality of the fast. The Enemy also asks, “For how long is he fasting?” He is demanding to know the quantity of the fast. By these two factors, the Enemy will access what harm the fast will do on his kingdom.

So impact is directly proportional to the quality and quantity of the fast.
